Hello! My name is Kyle Bacon and at the time of this posting I am 24 years old.
I studied Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia where I became enamored with the cycles and systems that govern our environment and how they interact to create the world we experience. I can talk about it for hours!
I love traveling and am fortunate enough to have visited 15 countries in South America, the Caribbean and Europe. I want travel to play a central part of my life but lament the limitations of time and scope.
On approach to our city of choice, we will pass over blue water dotted with coastal villages or follow historic rivers peppered with quaint towns. I feel like I am missing so much before I even arrive.
What's the remedy?
On a summer holiday during my third year at Uni (2011) I saw a sailboat documentary television show called Distant Shores (starring Paul and Sheryl Shard). They were sailing in England and Sheryl mentioned that the whole world is connected by waterways. A switch flipped in my head.
I need a sailboat.
